During a recent interview with E! News, the Bangerz singer spoke candidly about her personal life and the journey she’s taken to find herself. The 21-year-old singer classified her highly publicized break-up from actor Liam Hemsworth as a defining moment in her life.

Surprisingly, she also admitted that she still loves the Hunger Games actor! Although she and Hemsworth ended their engagement last September, she revealed they’re still on amicable terms. Cyrus also accredited aspects of her personal growth to the demise of their relationship.

“I love Liam,” the “We Can’t Stop” singer said. “Liam loves me.”

“It’s about finding yourself, and sometimes you have to separate yourself from everyone. I just had to become this person who is sitting in this chair right now. If I didn’t, I just felt like there was something that was going to explode and I had to set myself free.”

When she mentioned “finding herself,” it opened the door for a brief discussion about individuality. Needless to say, she definitely isn’t a follower! Cyrus went on to dish about fashion and her jaw-dropping stage costumes.

“That’s just what I like to wear,” she explained. “I never think about what someone is going to think. I’ve always been into fashion. I grew up around Dolly Parton, who is all t-ts,” she said. “And both my parents are covered in tattoos and are really cool.”

Cyrus also delved a little deeper with more details about her personal life and her occasional drug of choice. “I put pictures of me smoking weed, I’m not going to lie, on my Instagram. Because again, I was brought up in the way that we never thought marijuana was bad,” she said.

“I don’t promote it in my songs or say it and whatever, but it’s not like I’m sitting around telling a bunch of kids to do a bunch of drugs.”

Miley Cyrus definitely isn’t afraid to be herself!
