  • Mick Jagger honored his longtime love, L’Wren Scott, by singing a version of Bob Dylan’s Just Like a Woman at a memorial service for the fashion designer Friday.

The memorial service took place at St Bartholomew’s Church in Manhattan, New York, and featured a slew of celebrities and other notables.

“The most touching moment was when Mick sang the Bob Dylan song for L’Wren. The lyrics were so beautiful and so appropriate. It was deeply moving,” a source said.

“You take just like a woman. And you ache just like a woman. And you make love just like a woman. But you break just like a little girl,” Jagger, 70, sang during his rendition of Dylan song.

During the memorial, Jagger joined actresses Ellen Barkin and Sarah Jessica Parker in speaking about the fashion designer who took her own life in March, according to Jagger’s publicist, Vicki Scarfone.

Scott’s brother, Randy Bambrough, shared his own memories of his sister, and Scott’s niece, Hannah Bambrough, and Jagger’s son, James, read poetry.

Two of Jagger’s grandchildren, Mazie and Zak, read Psalm 23, while the iconic star’s longtime backup singer, Lisa Fischer, shared a rendition of Amazing Grace.

Others attendees included film directors Martin Scorsese and Baz Luhrmann, actresses Julianne Moore, Meg Ryan, Olivia Munn and Renee Zellweger, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, tennis star John McEnroe and former Vogue editor at large Andre Leon Talley.

“Everyone spoke that loved her. Everyone had their own beautiful memories of L’Wren. Mick Jagger spoke, Sarah Jessica Parker spoke, I spoke, Rachel Feinstein spoke, and all the grandkids and sons, they read scripture,” said Talley.

“The mood was beautiful, solemn, elegant. The mood was L’Wren. She would have approved of everything, the flowers, every single thing. It was brilliant.”

A small, private funeral took place in Los Angeles in March, after which she was cremated as per her wishes. Scott left her entire estate to Jagger.

Jagger and Scott – who’s high-end fashion label was a favorite among celebrities including Parker, Nicole Kidman, Tina Fey, and Michelle Obama – had been in a relationship since 2001.

Friday’s memorial service was followed by a reception.
