  • Michael Vick wedding to Kijafa Frink is currently scheduled to take place in sunny Miami Beach towards the end of June. The couple, however, has been engaged since December of 2009. According to The New York Post, the couple has already sent out nearly 300 invitations, which, truthfully, isn’t really that many compared to number of people that generally turn out for such celebrity-driven weddings.

Rumored to attend the ceremony are former Colts and Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy, Eagles coach Andy Reid, Vick’s NFL superagent Joel Segal, and Eagles running back LeSean McCoy.

Their union makes perfect sense, as the Frink and Vick have been together through several trying moments in the much-maligned footballer’s career. In addition to escaping the infamous dog fight incident — which sent him to prison for 21 months — with their relationship intact, the couple have weathered through Vick’s bankruptcy and troublesome career comeback. Like my grandmother used to say, “If a woman still loves you after you’ve lost all of your money and doesn’t mind that you fight dogs for money in your spare time, then you should probably keep her.” Sound advice if you ask me.

In other Vick-related news, the Eagles quarterback’s former home is now a haven for neglected and abused dogs. Good Newz Rehab Center for Chained and Penned Dogs recently opened in Vick’s spacious abode, an establishment that currently houses nine dogs in need of a little TLC. A few more dogs are expected to grace the space with their presence shortly. Instead of getting the couple a present, why not donate to them, instead?
