Mel Gibson Accused Of Spitting In Woman’s Face, Says He Was Harassed

  • Mel Gibson denied all accusations that he shoved, verbally attacked and spat at an Australian female photographer outside a Paddington cinema on Sunday.

The photographer claims she was pushed by Gibson after she took a photo of him and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Rosalind Ross. They were outside the Palace Verona Cinema in Paddington when the incident happened.

News Corp Australia photographer, Kristi Miller, said Gibson spouted foul words and spat at her face while yelling at her.

“He was spitting in my face as he was yelling at me, calling me a dog, saying I’m not even a human being and I will go to hell,” said Miller in a statement to the Daily Telegraph.

“I took a photo of Mel and his girlfriend and when I turned around he shoved my back really hard … It shocked me because I wasn’t expecting it. I don’t know if it was his hands or elbow,” said Miller.

The photographer said she was terrified by the incident as she thought the actor was going to hit her in the face. She said Ross tried to calm Gibson and apologized to her.

The couple had been watching a film at the Verona which coincided with the Israeli Film Festival.

Alan Nierob, Gibson’s publicists, countered Miller’s claim. He said Gibson was being harassed by the photographer. The actor asked her to stop, but she did not.

“There was never any physical contact whatsoever and the story being told by her is a complete fabrication of the truth,” Nierob told Guardian Australia. NSW police are now investigating the incident to verify Miller’s claim.

The Oscar-winning actor is in Australia to start his newest project called Hackshaw Ridge which will start filming in September. His 5-year-old daughter, Lucia, was also with him in Sydney.

Gibson has been involved in violent outbursts in the past including one that involves his anti-semitic rants and altercations with his former girlfriend and mother of his daughter.
