  • Megan Fox recently sat down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres and opened up a little bit about turning 30, and she also revealed why she has an extensive collection of kimono: because her son loves them.

Fox said that she’s not even sure how many she has at this point, but that something about the satiny robe makes her look “magical” to her son.

“I have a few drawers full. I don’t know exactly how many that is…My kids love it, especially Noah. He finds that to be a very magical thing when I float down the stairs in my silk kimono. He’s very taken by that, and that’s sort of an image I like to brand into him,” Fox said.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star also talked a bit about turning 30 this year, saying that when she was younger that was the age that seemed so far away.

“When you’re young, that sounds so old. When you’re in high school or even when you’re in your early 20s, it still sounds like, ‘By the time I’m 30, I should just give up.’ What’s the point of going on at that age?’ And then you turn 30 –I’m turning 30 later this year—you don’t feel any older at all.”

Megan Fox may be getting a little older, but she’s still got a huge fan following and a full schedule. The action star has been experimenting with television recently, filling in for Zooey Deschanel on New Girl while she’s away on maternity leave. The show has explained her absence by having her sequestered on jury duty, and her roommates decide to rent her room out while she’s gone…to Fox. Actor Jake Johnson said recently that he was apprehensive at first about Deschanel being out of the picture, but was pleasantly surprised to find that Fox fit in seamlessly with the group.

“I thought it was really weird. At first I thought it was really jarring that Zooey wasn’t going to be in some episodes. … I wasn’t sure if the show worked without her and I was pleasantly surprised that the ‘New Girl’ voice and tone is more about the writing and the ensemble more than any one person. I thought ‘How does Megan Fox, international movie star. …fit into this world?’ And the wild part is she just fits in,” Johnson said.
