  • First there were rumors that Meagan Good (Anchorman 2, Think Like a Man) would replace Kerry Washington on the ABC hit drama, Scandal, when Washington refused to accept a pay decrease.

The initial article, posted on Cream BMP Daily, turned out to be a hoax. But it seems as if Good cannot get away from the rumors.

Recently there have been questions as to whether the 33-year old actress bleaches her skin. But Good was quick to set the record straight about the rumor.

“I can’t believe I’m actually going to address this nonsense lol,” she wrote on Instagram, “Buuuut I have young women who follow me – so I think it’s important to give clarity because I believe that black and every other color is beautiful.”

Good addressed those who would believe that she would actually do such a thing as bleaching her face and body to have lighter skin.

“I LOVE my complexion – no matter what side of the spectrum I’m at at any particular time…My skin looks various different ways for various reasons – from lighting to makeup…style of photography or something as simple as weather and what coast on working on at any given time…This is my complexion – the one I was born with.”

But the Saw 5 actress did point out that her skin, like many others, does tend to get lighter and darker depending on how much sun she gets.

“I looove the sun I’m a Cali gal,” she wrote, “But as I’ve gotten older and especially more recently, since I’ve gotten into my 30s, I tend not to be in the sun as much because it ages your skin terribly.”

As for her blonde hair, Good says, “GET. YO. LIFE.” She dyed her hair not to look more Caucasian but because she likes it.

“I went blonde for the same reason I went purple …and for the same reason I’ll probably go Green at some point.”

Good ended by saying that she shouldn’t have even taken the time to respond to the foolishness but she “felt moved to say something for every little brown girl that follows my page.”

“I’m proud to be me brown or tan, thick or thin, natural hair or weave or dyed purple or green. Godbless.”
