  • While the first half still has some time remaining, there’s no denying how strong Marquette looks in their opening round game against the BYU Cougars. Hot shooting from behind the 3-point arc (5-9), and rebounding domination have contributed mightily to Marquette’s lead, but it should be noted, BYU showed plenty of moxie coming back against Iona, and with the 3-point shot, no lead is truly safe.

    That being said, if BYU reverts to a zone like they did against Iona, Marquette could very well shoot the Cougars right out of the building.

    Of course, as I’m writing this, the Cougars have decided to go an 8-2 run, cutting Marquette’s lead to 13 points. It should be noted, however, that the Golden Eagles look like the stronger team, but that in no way guarantees victory. Twitter users noticed this, too:
