  • Mark Wahlberg has built quite a career for himself with action films, and now he’s reportedly in talks to film a couple of movies with two up-and-coming UFC stars–people who know a little something about action.

Wahlberg has already been planning a project with Ronda Rousey called Mile 22, and now he says he’s been throwing around another big name in the world of MMA: Conor McGregor.

“Yeah, we talked about him for something. I like him. Absolutely. The right role he could be great. Very possible I’d work with him,” Wahlberg said.

McGregor has been in headlines quite a bit lately after his 13-second win over Jose Aldo at UFC 194, and although he hasn’t confirmed that he’ll be breaking away from the cage to hit up Hollywood, it looks like he’ll have someone in his corner if he does.

Meanwhile, Wahlberg has been busy with his own career but still makes time for his family; the actor was spotted at a recent Houston Rockets/ L.A. Lakers game with wife Rhea and their daughter Ella, showing off some PDA for the “Kiss Cam” despite Ella’s protests.

Mark’s next project is the upcoming Daddy’s Home with Will Ferrell, in which he plays the ex-husband of Ferrell’s wife.

Wahlberg recently sat down with Jimmy Fallon to talk about his busy schedule, which included a meeting with Pope Francis earlier this year, and said that unfortunately the Pope had no idea who he was. When Fallon expressed disbelief, Wahlberg made a good point.

“It’s true, he hasn’t watched television since, like, 1980. I mean, you don’t get to become the Pope by sitting around.”
