Mark Ballas Injured in Accident: ‘DWTS’ Pro Transported to Hospital

  • Mark Ballas of Dancing With the Stars fame was injured in a car accident on Monday in L.A. and transported to the hospital shortly thereafter. Fortunately friends of the dance pro are saying he will be okay. Ballas was reportedly behind the wheel when a ‘speeding vehicle’ slammed into the rear of his car’s right side.

The dancer is being treated with medication for back pain and whiplash. He was treated and released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Candace Cameron Bure was Mark Ballas’s partner on Dancing With the Stars this past season. She tweeted about the accident the day after it happened. Both Candace and Mark are likely counting their lucky stars that this accident didn’t take place while they were still pursuing that DWTS mirror ball trophy.

This is the second injury in about a month for Mark Ballas. He was hurt during rehearsals at Dancing With the Stars last month. It seems his shoulder popped out during a dance routine and he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. He wasn’t out of commission for long, however. He and Candace Cameron Bure made it to the DWTS finals where they lost out on that coveted mirror ball to Maks Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis.

Mark is appreciative of all the Twitter love his fans have shown him since his car accident.

Hopefully this is the last of the injuries for a long time–maybe even forever–for Mark Ballas. A dancer cannot sustain too many injuries and remain smooth and steady on his feet. As all dancers know, their careers are often short lived, with wear and tear on their bodies being the number one reason for retiring from the profession. Mark doesn’t need the extra added physical stress of accidents to lend themselves to his needing to choose a brand new profession in the near future. Fans would be crushed if the DWTS mainstay was no longer able to strut his stuff on the dance floor.
