  • Maggie Earwood appears in a pre-wedding photo with her husband-to-be. The photo has gone viral over the past few days.

In the shot, Marine Cpl. Caleb Earwood is seen holding hands with his now-wife, Maggie Earwood. Since the photo was taken before the wedding, he is around the corner from his bride, so they didn’t see one another prior to the nuptials.

Caleb and Maggie Earwood–eyes closed and hands together–are saying a prayer in the photo.

North Carolina wedding photographer Dwayne Schmidt captured the emotional moment. He wasn’t even sure he’d be able to photograph the wedding, as he underwent surgery for a kidney stone just last week. He posted the shot on social media before he had the rest of the wedding pictures ready to be displayed. He was shocked when it went viral so quickly.

Caleb and Maggie Earwood explained the scenario in an interview with Today.com.

“I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with and the amazing family I was marrying into,” Caleb explained.

“When I first grabbed his hand, he was shaking really bad, so I knew he was really nervous,” Maggie Earwood said. “It relieved me to know the person I was getting ready to marry felt the same way about God.”

So many crazy, unnecessary, and even hurtful things go viral these days. It’s nice to see this photo of Caleb and Maggie Earwood praying before they took their wedding vows. The world might just become a better place if more shots like theirs go viral.
