  • Comedian Bill Hader and his director wife Maggie Carey have welcomed a new baby girl into their lives. Carey gave birth to the couple’s third child—and third girl—Hayley on Saturday, November 15. Carey and Hader are reportedly continuing their tradition of naming their children with names that start with “H,” already having Hannah, 5, and Harper, 2.

Carey is the writer and director of The To Do List, which came out in 2013 and starred Aubrey Plaza in the lead role. Hader, meanwhile, is a Saturday Night Live alumnus who is famous for his role as Weekend Update’s gay club reviewer Stefon.

Before Carey gave birth to Hayley, her husband made a guest appearance on Conan recently and opened up about how challenging being a parent was. “It’s hard, it’s great, it’s beautiful. I don’t sleep,” said the 36-year-old SNL alum to Conan O’Brien.

Hader also told the late-night talk show host how his daughters with Carey can’t grasp how their father is sometimes in the movies they watch. “They’re very young. We’ll be watching and she’s really into the movie and stuff, and I’ll go, you know, that’s daddy and she kind of looks at me and she’s like, ‘That’s a cartoon,’” he said.

Hader also spoke of Carey as a mother, and how she reacted during the birth of their first child together. Apparently, Carey may be open to having more children, judging by what Hader said she said.

“She was awesome, amazing, but she was like Gene Hackman in Hoosiers,” joked Hader about what Carey was like during the birth of their eldest daughter, Hannah. “She was just like, ‘We can do this! I love you!’”

Hader is reportedly doesn’t mind being surrounded with females in his home. “I grew up with my two sisters and my mom, so it’s my lot in life to be surrounded by women,” he told People in September.
