  • When it comes to YouTube videos with children in them, they usually fall somewhere between cute and incredibly cute, and the video that’s getting a lot of attention at the moment is the one starring a three year old boy named Mateo.

    In the video, the adorable three year old has a passionate debate with his mom about eating cupcakes for dinner, but first it’s necessary to give a little background on Mateo and the whole cupcake saga:

    Apparently, Mateo had eaten lunch early in the day, so when dinner-time came rolling around he felt that he ate enough and could launch right into desert, and that’s where the great cupcake debate started.

    “Linda, honey, honey, look at this,” said Mateo. For some reason he calls his mother by her first name, which makes the video even more hilarious.

    )

    From there, although it’s not totally clear what Mateo was articulating to his mom, it’s evident that he wanted to have desert instead of actual dinner-food, and Linda let him argue his point. However, she was still firm and told little Mateo that he needs to do a better job of listening.

    “You and Kevin don’t listen, so I have to give both of you guys pow-pows in your butt,” she threatened.

    But Linda didn’t threaten to spank Mateo in a mean way at all. In actuality, it seems like she was being somewhat playful and just wanted her son to listen better. And when it comes to her son calling her by her first name, Linda says Mateo does that from time to time, but not always.

    “For the most part we are still Mommy and Daddy, but when he is serious and wants to make sure we are paying attention, we quickly become Linda and Kenneth,” said the mom.

    “I’ve always said Mateo is an old soul. The kid definitely keeps us on our toes and this video depicts him, well, accurately.”
