  • Lena Headey of Game of Thrones is expecting her second child.

The 41-year-old actress, who plays Cersei Lannister in the hit HBO series, announced that she will welcome baby number two this summer.

“I’m happy to confirm that I’m having my second child this summer,” Lena Headey told People magazine. “I only hope that this announcement can help me regain some of the privacy I have recently lost to prying photographers and ask that they please respect my privacy and let me enjoy this time.

Lena Headey is mom to five-year-old son Wylie with Irish musician Peter Loughran, whom she divorced in 2013. The father of her expected child is unknown.

Game of Thrones returns to the air on April 12, and it is unclear if her pregnancy will be a part her character’s storyline.

Lena Headey earned an Emmy nomination in July 2014 for her portrayal of Cersei, whom she says is a survivor.

“I think she’s a survivor and holds on to a reality that’s she created and it’s very small because it’s so full of denial for her,” she told the Daily Beast. “But the process of going in in the morning and getting the corsets and wigs done and walking onto sets really helps.

“And being an actor and having a belief in what you do is the biggest commitment I have in my life, besides being a parent.”

Lena Headey told the Telegraph in 2014 that she never expected the HBO series to be such a big hit.

“You never know. It’s such a bizarre project – with dragons and incest and magic and wizards and zombies,” said Headey. “But it’s very clever and each script it like a gift to me.”
