  • LeAnn Rimes has gotten quite a bit of press in the past year; between her new album and a much-publicized fling with–and subsequent marriage to–a married man, she’s been in headlines all over the place. It doesn’t hurt that her husband, Eddie Cibrian, has a seething ex-wife who has been feuding with LeAnn on Twitter and has a reality show, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. But now the country star will be getting some attention of a different kind as she and Eddie move on to their own VH1 reality show, tentatively titled “LeAnn And Eddie”.

“We are really excited to be working together on a unique show that will give you a glimpse into who we really are or better yet who we’re really not,” the couple said. “We’re thrilled to partner with Vh1 and The Gurneys [of Gurney Productions] to put our spin on a project full of love, humor and music.”

The couple will serve as executive producers of the show, which is set to air this fall for at least six episodes. LeAnn said a while back that she and her husband wanted to create something together in the entertainment world but hinted that it would be a scripted sitcom, not a reality show.

“We’ve been talking about a show. It’s not a reality show,” she said. “If anything, it would be based around our normal lives, but it would be scripted. We want to take our lives and laugh as much at ourselves as we think other people do. It would be taking our regular life and elaborating on it to make it really over the top and funny. After all these years of having stuff thrown at us, it would be great to laugh at it all.”

Rimes and Cibrian have been tabloid fodder since meeting on the set of the television movie “Northern Lights” and falling in love, even though he was married to Brandi Glanville at the time. The couple are co-raising Eddie’s two sons with Glanville, though it’s not clear yet whether the kids will be a part of the show.
