  • This year has been good to Lea Michele so far. The actress has a new TV show premiering this month, a book launch and a new love.

Michele’s Scream Queens is slated to premiere on Fox on September 22. Her book, You First: Journal Your Way to Your Best Life, will come out on that same date. Plus, Michele has finally moved on from the painful death of co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith in July 2013.

In the October issue of Flare magazine, the 28-year-old opened up about why she stayed single after she lost Monteith: “I wanted to make sure that I was OK with me, feeling strong and feeling happy on my own.” She continued,”I didn’t want anybody to fill any holes for me—that sounds sexual! I wanted to make sure that I was a whole person again and that no one was coming into my life to put me back together. I needed to do that on my own.” Michele admitted that she’s made a lot of effort to be happy and strong on her own. According to her, when she felt she was ready to live again, someone “miraculously” came into her life.

On Instagram, Michele shared a photo of her with new boyfriend Matthew Paetz whom she met in April of last year, after he appeared in her music video. The couple seems to be enjoying a happy and loving relationship.

It’s obvious that the Glee star is content and proud with her achievements nowadays. Michele is learning to ignore detractors and care more about the people who really matter in her life.

“It’s a tough business, it’s a tough town, and you really have to have a thick skin. I’m constantly learning, but I’m really proud of where I am,” Michele explained.
