  • New York socialite Lauren Silverman paid tribute to her man recently by organizing an advanced birthday bash for him in London. Silverman’s boyfriend, music mogul Simon Cowell, is celebrating his 55th birthday on October 7, but she decided to throw a party for him last Sunday at Chelsea restaurant Scalini in London.

Silverman decided to leave her baby with Cowell, seven-month-old Eric, at home so they could have a date night out with Cowell’s celebrity friends. She and the birthday celebrant posed for photographers, arm-in-arm, before heading into the restaurant for the party.

Among the friends Silverman invited to the bash were Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Louis Walsh and Sinitta. Also in attendance at Silverman’s party were Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and her new husband Jean-Bernard, whom an eyewitness said looked “incredibly loved-up.”

There were a few speeches made that night that spiced up Silverman’s party for Cowell. Walliams reportedly “confessed” that he had a secret gay relationship with Cowell. He joked that Eric was a cover for their relationship, according to a source at the party. “He said he couldn’t believe the lengths Simon would go to in having a baby to cover up their relationship,” said the source.

Another person to make a speech was Cowell’s ex-girlfriend, Sinitta. Her speech was reportedly a little more serious, touching upon the fact Cowell was her best friend. The singer also reportedly praised Silverman but also admitted that she used to be jealous of her.

“[Sinitta] said she is happy that she is friends with Lauren and has been for some time, adding that Lauren is now also one of her best friends. She also said how much she loves Eric,” said a source.

The following day, Walliams couldn’t help tweeting about the party and referring to his comedic tribute speech for Cowell. He tweeted, “Loved seeing @Amanda_Holden & @AleshaOfficial at @SimonCowell ‘s birthday last night. Sadly after my speech I won’t be invited back on BGT.”
