  • We reported to you earlier that Mavericks fans became fed up with Lamar Odom and that he disbanded from the team a few days ago. Odom is currently listed as “inactive” which means that he is still eleigible for an $8.2 million paycheck if he isn’t traded by the end of June.

The decision for the break between Odom and the Mavericks might not have been as mutual as the former player suggested. ESPN reported that Odom got into a heated confrontation with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban during halftime and that was what prompted the team and player to part ways.

Cuban had this much to say, “I just asked him, does he want to go for it or not? Is he in or is he out? I think he thought we were playing poker. I just didn’t get a commitment. And that was the end.”

Tim MacMahon told ESPN in the following YouTube video that he thinks that Odom, “Never mentally committed to the team.” He went on to say that this lack of committment was a long-running issue and commended Cuban, “For his remarkable restraint putting up with him for as long as he did.”

Odom was hours late for practice on several occasions despite living only a few minutes away.

If he retires from the NBA what will he do for a career?

Alan Donahue is a writer for the Yahoo! Contributor Network and he wrote an article suggesting that Odom consider becoming a reality TV producer, host for “The X Factor,” rodeo clown, NBA analyst, or an actor.

Here is what people on Twitter have to say about Odom’s career:
