  • Surprise, surprise. Lady Gaga is stirring up controversy.

The singer, whose outrageous costumes, sexually charged lyrics, and suggestive stage routines have earned her ridicule in several countries, can’t seem to keep herself out of trouble.

Upon arriving in Thailand on Thursday, Gaga tweeted about scoring some fake designer stuff, namely a Rolex, and offended the very people she was there to entertain.

I just landed in Bangkok baby! Ready for 50,000 screaming Thai monsters. I wanna get lost in a lady market and buy fake Rolex.

Fans who were excited about the “Born This Way Ball” tour stop in their city quickly became agitated at what some called an offensive insult that was bad for the country’s image. One fan even said he planned to get rid of his ticket to the show.

Gaga is known for her outrageousness in most countries and has prompted Islamists in Indonesia to consider banning her show, to which Gaga replied via Twitter:

The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremist separately, are threatening violence

She later tweeted about Manilla, making light of the situation.

And don’t worry, if I get thrown in jail in Manila, Beyonce will just bail me out. Sold out night 2 in the Philippines. I love it here!

While some were upset by her thoughts on Thailand, her many adoring “monsters” were waiting for her when she arrived at the hotel and selling out the 50,000-plus show.
