  • Lady Gaga has graced the screen–both large and small–before, with small roles on The Sopranos and in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. But her next role has fans impatiently waiting for the return of a very popular show, and the creator recently revealed some secrets about her character.

Ryan Murphy said during an interview with E! that Gaga will have a very complex character on the new season of American Horror Story, revealing that she has relationships with Angela Bassett’s character and Matt Bomer’s, and that the latter shares a pretty heinous murder scene early on in the series.

“Lady Gaga will play a character who has relationships with Angela and Matt. She’s playing the owner of the hotel. A wealthy social doyenne. She’s consumed with art and fashion and people, and she has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode. She starts working on Monday. In the first two days, she has a pretty spectacular murder scene with Matt Bomer,” Murphy said.

The show will also star Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, Emma Roberts, Richard T. Jones, Denis O’Hare–who plays a character obsessed with Elizabeth Taylor and even dresses like her–Lily Rabe, Max Greenfield, Darren Criss, and Madchen Amick. Show favorites Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, and Evan Peters are also signed on, and Bates revealed recently that her character actually runs the haunted hotel.

“I have relationships with Matt Bomer and Wes and I can’t stand Sarah Paulson. Liz Taylor and I have a very close relationship,” Bates said.

Murphy said earlier this year that every season of the show is connected somehow, and the thread will be revealed when the series comes to an end. Most details from Hotel, as with the previous seasons, have been kept pretty closely guarded by the showrunners, so any tidbit of info that Murphy gives is gobbled up by rabid fans. As for Lady Gaga, she hasn’t said much about the role, preferring instead to let the fans see for themselves when the show premieres October 7.
