  • Kylie Jenner wanted to mix it up in celebration of her 17th birthday. So she decided to shave the back of her head.

“I shaved the back of my head for my birthday,” said the youngest Jenner while walking the blue carpet for the Teen Choice Awards. “I was just doing my hair today, and I was like, ‘Should I trim it a little?’ And I was like, ‘Why don’t I just shave the back of my head?’ So I just did it.”

Sister Kim Kardashian liked Kylie’s new style and even admitted to having the same cut as a young girl, “I did that haircut when I was 12 years old. I said the cool thing to do was to shave the whole underneath of your hair and then you put your hair in a ponytail and they say the shaved look.”

Here’s a look at the new do. Jenner posted the pic on her Instagram account on Monday. She wrote above the picture, “So this happened yesterday.”

Jenner, whose actual birthday was on Sunday, celebrated her big day with the help of several of her celebrity friends that included rapper Tyga, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, The Game, and of course big sister Kendall. All the usual birthday accoutrements were present at the affair including party hats and cupcakes. Bieber even provided some of the music for the night.

Kylie’s friends also bore her likeness on hats and shirts in honor of the celebration.

Here’s a selfie taken by sister Kim en route to the party.

You can currently catch new episodes of Kylie and company’s reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians on the E! Channel Sundays at 9 pm.
