Kylie Jenner Bunny Causes Newsman To Blow A Fuse

  • Kylie Jenner and her bunny rabbit finally drove a Florida news anchor over the edge.

John Brown one of the anchors of “Good Day Orlando” sat next to his co-anchor Amy Kaulfeldt on Friday as Rumba 1003 radio host and broadcast guest Jenny Castillo talked about Kylie Jenner’s new bunny rabbit. Kylie has named the rabbit “Bruce.” Of course, Bruce Jenner was her father’s name before he transitioned to Caitlyn Jenner. Apparently, Kylie Jenner naming her bunny with her father’s former name was news.

But not to John Brown. The newsman had finally had enough of the reality TV family mostly famous for being famous.

“I’m having a good Friday, so I refuse to talk about the Kardashians today,” Brown said. He then got up from his seat on the couch next to Kaulfeldt, saying, “You’re on your own, Amy. I can’t do it. I’ve had enough Kardashians.”

On-air staff tried to play Brown’s fed-up response to yet another Kardashian “story” off. Another anchor hopped in to fill Brown’s now-empty seat next to Kaulfeldt. But Jenny Castillo continued to address Brown, involving him in the story. Perhaps she was trying to recover the moment and play it off as a good-natured bit of fun.

Castillo asked Brown, who was now off camera, but still wearing a live micrphone, “How would you like it if your daughter named her pet ‘John’? That’s exactly what Kylie Jenner did.”

Brown was having none of it.

“I don’t care about this family,” he said from behind the camera. “I’m sick of this family! It’s a non-story! You’re talking about this family every freaking day on this show.”

Still, a deer-in-the-headlights frozen Amy Kaulfeldt tried to smile and carry on, only to have John Brown continue his screed against the seemingly endless Kardashian news cycle.

“Nobody cares about this family anymore! I’ve had enough. It’s Friday. I want to have a good Friday. I don’t want to talk about the Kardashians! That’s enough of these guys. Did you listen to the research? Nobody cares about the Kardashians anymore!”

Castillo then replied with a laugh, “The sad part about it is that I agree with you.”

Brown’s reaction to yet another Kylie Jenner story reflects the feelings of many writers. With most reality TV material, when a show comes to the end of its seasonal run, the tabloid “news” stories around it stop for a while. Keeping Up with the Kardashians is different. Just as the main show comes to its seasonal end, spin-offs of the show kick in. Not only that, but the antics of the family are reported on as they happen daily, only to be revisited when the footage of them is broadcast in the following season.

Brown did not back-pedal his stance, but but he did try to soften it some. He posted the video to his Facebook page later that day.

“Here is the Kardashian rant. Sorry, I lost my mind a bit, although it was partially in jest! I did feel better though after I was done,” he wrote in the caption.
