Kristen Wiig was actually quite the highlight of this year’s Golden Globe Awards and racked up lots of laughs with her cohort and Saturday Night Live co-star, Bill Hader.
However, if you ask her, it was an abominable failure.
In fact, it was hilarious!
“I haven’t received the call yet,” Kristen Wiig told MTV News when asked about the possibility of her and Hader taking the places left vacant by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
Too bad it’s not a voter-chosen situation like so many things are these days. Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader would be great as hosts!
As Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader did spot-off impersonations and outrageously misquoted very quotable movie lines (E.T. says, “Hey guys, I gotta get back to my planet.”), the audience, and definitely those at home were loving it.
“It’s funny because you can’t really hear what’s happening when you’re on the stage,” Kristen Wiig said. “And I remember Bill and I when we left were like, ‘Did we just… bomb out there? What happened?’ You can’t tell when you’re out there at all.”
Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader definitely didn’t bomb.
But, Kristen Wiig’s Diary of a Teenage Girl co-star, Alexander Skarsgård wouldn’t know any better.
During the interview, he admitted that he’d missed Kristen Wiig’s whole performance.
“Did you kill it? I was out of the country, I haven’t seen it,” Skarsgård said. He then playfully asked, “Were you… Hilarious?”
Yes. Yes, she was.
