  • Kristen Cavallari recently shared a workout photo on Instagram that showed off her killer abs, and the mom of two said she’s been working really hard to get back to her pre-baby weight. For her, the last five pounds has been the most stubborn, but she says the real secret to getting back in shape wasn’t counting calories. Instead, she counts ingredients.

“I’ve been working out really hard. Those last five pounds are really stubborn. It’s in your stomach. You have to eat really well and workout. I don’t put any toxic chemicals in my body. I’m a freak about reading the ingredients. I don’t count calories, I just read what’s in whatever I’m going to be putting in my mouth,” she said in an interview with Access Hollywood.

Cavallari says that a good workout is important as well, and after the birth of her second son, she revealed what her routine consists of.

“I started working out when Jax was three weeks old. I’ve been working out four to five times a week for 30 to 45 minutes at home, doing tons of leg work like squats, lunges and lifting weights,” she said.

Just got a nice little workout in. Yes those are baby monitors behind me. #GottaLoveNapTime

As far as diet, the former Laguna Beach star says there’s one thing she makes sure to steer clear of.

“I stay away from dairy for the most part. I think that is the number one weight gainer. If you’re going to get one thing out of your diet, I think it should be dairy.”
