Amazon.com said today it will release a free Kindle for Android application sometime this summer. Kindle for Android will allow users to browse and read from over 540,000 books in the Kindle Store. Kindle for Android features Amazon's Whispersync technology, which saves and synchs a user's bookmarks across their Kindle, Kindle DX, iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, PC, Mac, and BlackBerry.
