  • Model and television personality, Kim Stolz, can now add “author” to her list of accomplishments.

The 30-year old America’s Next Top Model contestant has written a new book on the hilarity of social media revolution, chronicling a life filtered through our obsessions with technology.

The book is titled Unfriending My Ex: And Other Things I’ll Never Do.

In an interview with TechCrunch, Stolz spoke of how stalking an ex on social media is like taking a drug. The less you take it, the less you will want it.

“It’s an addictive substance just like anything else,” she said. “If you can wean yourself off of it, you’re going to want it less over time.”

Although now married, Stolz says that her ex, Brenda, was probably the one she had in mind when she wrote the book, although “it is about a lot of people.”

The former correspondent for MTV News also wrote in the book of online relationships and how people who go through online relationships and really suffer from the heartbreak of an online break-up “let that take over their lives,” and that having face-to-face friends and relationships are the most important.

Other topics that are covered are: Should couples have a limit to posting pictures of themselves to Instagram? Are selfies making us all micro-reality stars? Is it possible that our technology addiction makes us less sensitive, attentive people? If so, why can’t we stop?

Using humor, Stoltz says that selfies give ugly people “false hope.”

“It’s terrible,” she says, “but it’s true.” She also adds that she never “likes” someone’s selfie online.

“I genuinely like the things I like.”

Since finishing fifth place on Top Model, Stolz has also served as a video jockey and host for the mtvU series, The Freshmen, and is currently a vice president at Citigroup.

Unfriending My Ex: And Other Things I’ll Never Do hits shelves on June 24 but can pre-ordered on Amazon.
