  • Kim Cattrall has some bad news for fans of Sex And The City: she thinks the rumors of a third movie are just “wishful thinking”.

The actress, who portrayed Samantha on the show and in the hugely successful films, says that although she and the other ladies have great chemistry together and a third movie would be wonderful, she just doesn’t see it in the cards.

“I take these rumours as terrific compliments but I don’t believe they are more than wishful thinking,” she said. “In all the cases of the previous two films there were long periods of rumours and speculation and then they happened.”

The rumors come about a month after actor Chris Noth landed himself in hot water with his comments about Sarah Jessica Parker’s character on the show, calling her a “whore”.

“He never tried to pretend he was anything other than what he was,” Noth said about his character, Mr. Big. “It was (Carrie) who tried to pretend he was something he wasn’t. He was always honest about himself – he never cheated on her. The relationship just didn’t work, and he went on to get married while she went on to … how many boyfriends did she have? She was such a whore!” he said.

While Cattrall hasn’t commented on Noth’s take on Carrie Bradshaw, she has recently been outspoken in the fight to keep a park in her hometown of Liverpool from being built upon. The star has criticized Mayor Joe Anderson’s plans to sell Sefton Park Meadows, saying it would be taking green space away from the residents.

“I sincerely hope it’s not too late to turn back on that decision. This is why I have spoken out against the plans to develop on local green spaces here in Liverpool. To do so is to encroach on the people’s land,” Cattrall said.
