Kendall Jenner: Why Did ‘Us Weekly’ Retract Bruce Jenner Story?

  • Kendall Jenner allegedly gave an interview recently during which she confirmed her father, Bruce Jenner’s, upcoming transition from a man to a woman. Us Weekly reported on the interview. In a Twitter post, however, Kendall Jenner denied having said what they claimed she said in the interview, prompting Us Weekly to reach out to the reporter for further confirmation.

Here’s how it seems the whole ordeal went down. It was back on March 14th when Kendall Jenner attended the taping of Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber in Los Angeles. During an interview allegedly conducted by an independent freelance journalist, Kendall answered some questions about Bruce Jenner.

“He’s a wonderful man. And just because he’s changing shoes now, so to speak, doesn’t make him less wonderful. I will always love my dad, whether he’s a man or a woman,” the Us Weekly article quoted Kendall Jenner as saying, giving credit to the initial interview.

Kendall didn’t seem happy when she denied saying this via Twitter, however.

This leaves a couple of possible scenarios. Did Kendall Jenner make the aforementioned comment about Bruce Jenner and then decide that she wished she’d never said it? Or did Us Weekly simply make the whole thing up–meaning this ‘independent freelance reporter’ might not even exist?

No one in the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family has made any official comments about Bruce Jenner and his upcoming transition, so it makes it a little hard to believe that Kendall Jenner would have spoken so openly about her father this way. Of course it’s important to remember, too, that Kendall is young–and young people make foolish choices sometimes. Did she say something she later regretted?

What do you suppose the real situation is with regard to Kendall Jenner and the Us Weekly article that has been retracted? Which of the two parties do you believe is at fault here? Or–do you think Us Weekly is telling the truth, and that there really was an ‘independent freelance reporter’ involved as well?
