  • If you had a crush on Kelly Kapowski – and who didn’t – you have something in common with NBA star Chris Paul.

The Clippers point guard revealed his passion for the Saved by the Bell character when he posted a signed picture of Kelly by the actress who played her, Tiffani Thiessen, on his Instagram account.

“Chris, Happy Birthday, my dear,” that actress wrote on the picture.

“This is easily one of the best Bday gifts I’ve ever received in my 29yrs on this Earth!!! #KellyKapowski #My1stLove #WeWereTogether #SheJustDidntKnowIt #CuzImSavedByTheBell,” Paul posted with the picture.

And Paul isn’t the only athlete who has the hots for Kelly. Tennis pro Andy Roddick left a message for the basketball star on his Twitter page.

“I’l [sic] literally am having issues containing my jealousy … Back off CP!” he posted not long after Paul shared his gift.

If you don’t remember, Kelly Kapowski was the bubbly and charming brunette student on the show. She was adored by many, but only had eyes for Zack Morris, played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

Twitter also showed its love for the character:

Although the show ended in 1993, Kapowski is always mentioned whenever the topic of hot 1990s teenage starlets comes up. In fact, a picture of the character with her flowing locks and gorgeous smile is emblazoned on a T-shirt that a variety of celebs have been seen donning.

Case in point: Dancing With the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy wore the shirt during a dance rehearsal. The funny part about it is that his partner was Elizabeth Berkley, who played Jessie Spano, on the show.
