Kelly Clarkson Expecting First Child

Just a few short weeks after tying the knot to Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson has announced that they are expecting their first child together.

Clarkson made the announcement via Twitter yesterday saying, "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)."

Last week, during an interview with Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show", Clarkson hinted around that there may be some big news coming, but said she was not announcing anything yet. "We are not announcing anything right now! We're not, no," she said. That is when the suspicions started that she may be pregnant, especially since she and Blackstock decided not to go through with their lavish wedding and settled for an intimate ceremony in Tennessee.

"Our whole life is a celebration," she said after the wedding. "That's what we kept laughing about. We don't need another day where we throw a big party. Our lives are so in the spotlight all the time. Everything is such a spectacle, we were like, 'We would rather have an intimate moment that's special.'"

Blackstock already has two children from a previous marriage, and Clarkson says that is what made her want to have kids of her own. "We have two kids. And they're so great," she said. "I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five."

"I want babies!" Clarkson said during a radio interview with Valentine in the Morning. "Everybody keeps saying, 'What do you want for Christmas?' And I'm like, 'I want to be pregnant.'" Congratulations Kelly! Your wish has come true!
