  • This Saturday is going to be a first for Katherine Webb, and she’s pretty nervous. Webb will be attending the Iron Bowl for the first time.

For those who may be a bit unaware, the Iron Bowl is the annual game played by rivals the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers.

Webb will have a difficult time because she attended Auburn University, but her boyfriend, star quarterback AJ McCarron, plays for Alabama.

The former Miss Alabama USA can often be seen in the stands cheering on McCarron and the Crimson Tide, and it looks as if this Saturday will be no different.

Last week Webb told USA TODAY Sports, “This is the first actual game, Iron Bowl, that I will be attending. I don’t know what to expect and I’m really nervous.”

It seems a bit odd that Webb, who graduated from Auburn in 2011, has never actually been to the Iron Bowl, but it’s true. Webb said, “I didn’t get to go to the Iron Bowl whenever I was in school because I ended up having to sell my student ticket because I was running low on cash.”

Webb isn’t nervous about actually attending the game.

Said Webb, “Even in my experience at Auburn, it’s been very, very rare to see fans that have been rude or anything like that.” She added, “I’m not nervous about the fans. Of course I want to see AJ have that fourth championship ring, so I really want them to do well. That’s what I’m nervous about. I’m not nervous about his talent or abilities as a player. Of course, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about the outcome.”

It should be quite an exciting game. Alabama has an 11-0 record, while Auburn has a 10-0 record. The winner will play in Atlanta for the SEC Championship.

If Alabama wins, this could lead McCarron to his fourth national championship ring.

“Honestly, I don’t know what to expect. AJ just in his protective nature, we talked about it (Wednesday) night. And he was like, ‘I’m concerned. I don’t know what the fans are gonna do.’ And I’m like, ‘It’s OK. I’ll be sweet, genuine and nice like I always am if anything were to happen,’’ said Webb.

You can watch the game this Saturday, November 30, at 3:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
