  • Kate Mara and her Fantastic Four co-stars sat down for an interview recently that somehow managed to trump all the awkward interviews we’ve seen go viral lately (namely, Amy Schumer, Cara Delevingne).

Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell sat down with Jason Bailey and Steven Rickman of Atlanta radio station Rock 100.5 to talk about their movie, and the disc jockeys had quite a bit to say; not about the actual film, but about Mara’s appearance and the fact that, while she’s white and Jordan is black, they play siblings.

“The obvious question. From where I stand, you’re brother and sister … am I missing something? …You’re white, you’re black. How does that happen? There has to be some type of adoption thing going on.” Bailey said.

Jordan explained that there is no backstory given on the siblings, but that it doesn’t necessarily have to be adoption. From there, the interview took a turn when Rickman said he thought Kate was “way hot” in the film Shooter, and then pointedly commented on her new short haircut.

“I’m sorry, I know. You don’t like it, I can tell….This is a great interview,” Mara said.

Kate Mara has changed up her hair a few times recently, moving from the long auburn locks she rose to fame with to a short blonde bob to a dark pixie cut. The former American Horror Story actress said last year that she doesn’t want her look to define her when it comes to roles.

“I was just ready to not be — this sounds really cheesy — but I didn’t want to be defined by my hair color. My hair has always been crazy long and I was just ready to let that go,” Kate Mara said.
