  • Kate Hudson and mom Goldie Hawn are showing their support for breast cancer awareness month by coloring their blonde locks pink, and Hudson shared photos of their transformation on Instagram.

“In honor of my bestie Juliana, my assistant Kathy, my grandmother Laura, Mimo and all the people who are fighting and have fought breast cancer. Your courage shines and inspires. We decided to show our support by wearing pink proud!” she wrote on the photo sharing site.

October is breast cancer awareness month, and the color pink–along with the iconic ribbon–can be seen everywhere from food packaging to the uniforms of NFL players. The film star and clothing designer also showed off the hue in a darker shade on her fingernails.

The actress has been in headlines recently due to the public’s interest in her love life; earlier this year, Hudson spoke about her long engagement to Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy, saying she doesn’t mind putting off the nuptials for a while.

“It’s a long engagement. I think the best part is that knowing you’re working towards the idea of a commitment that is hopefully as long of a stretch as you can pull it, and forever seems beautiful,” she said, according to Hello! Magazine. “I look forward to the wedding day because when that happens, to me, marriage what I really love about it is bringing the families together, and the kids.”
