  • Kanye West called Saturday Night Live funny man Jay Pharoah following the MTV VMAs, and he shared part of his conversation with his fans at the Made in America Music Festival. It seems Pharoah cracked some jokes at the MTV VMAs about West that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family member didn’t appreciate.

“They want to make a joke out of how hard we work,” Kanye said on Saturday. “It’s all fine and all funny and everything, but don’t distract from our vision. It’s not a joke what we do up here. This music that we do is not a joke. What we do culturally is not a joke.”

“I called Jay Pharoah right after the MTV VMA Awards,” West continued. “I said, ‘I appreciate your show, but let me tell you about my story. Let me tell you about what I went through to get to that position.’ So we ain’t gonna have no black comedians going up stage spoofing people that’s working hard to open doors not only for black people, but any creators, anybody that wants to add a contribution to the world.”

Jay Pharoah made fun of Kanye West at the VMAs. He pretended to be Kim Kardashian’s husband and said he ‘created television’ and that his videos ‘cured ALS.’ He even poked fun at Kim Kardashian for her appearance in Kanye West’s music video, ‘Bound 2.’

Fortunately for those attending the Made in America Music Festival, Kanye West ended his rant on a bit of a more positive note.

“When I leave tonight, I want y’all to leave with love,” he told the 90,000 people who attended the event.

How do you think Jay Pharoah will react to Kanye West’s phone call and his rant at the Made in America Music Festival?

SNL fans are no doubt expecting it might open one of the season’s new shows.
