Justin Bieber seems to be turning over a new leaf. After a couple of years of poor behavior, the 21-year-old seems to have cleaned up his act, and he has even turned out some new, really good music.

Not everything is topnotch for the singer, however. He’s still lacking in the love department. He dished about the absence of a woman in his life during a recent interview with Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“I haven’t been in a relationship for a while now. I’m chilling and just hanging out. Just being by myself,” Justin Bieber said. “I am a relationship type of guy, I love to be in love and I love cuddling and I love all of that kind of stuff but I got my heart broken and so I’m just going to let that heal up.”

“I had a few beers guys, maybe I’m talking too openly?” he added.

Of course the last–and perhaps the only–love in Justin Bieber’s life was Selena Gomez. Rumors of a reconciliation hit the news every couple of weeks, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve rung true–at least not so far.

Both Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez attended the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards a couple of weeks ago. However while Justin Bieber cried on stage following an amazing performance, Selena and her friends left the audience. They returned when he was through.

Justin Bieber has churned out two new songs recently. His latest sing, “What Do You Mean?” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This makes Justin Bieber the youngest male artist to have a song debut in the number one spot. It’s only the 23rd song ever to debut at number one. The song is the second from a new album due out on November 13.

To thank his fans, Justin released an acoustic version of the music video.

This summer has signified the reconstruction of Justin Bieber–and so far what he’s built is holding up quite well.

Now if only there were a lady in his life.
