  • Julianne Moore is set to be honored by the Museum of the Moving Image for her contributions to film, television, and theater.

She will be honored during the museum’s 29th annual Salute on January 20, 2015 at 583 Park Ave. in New York City .

The announcement was made on Wednesday, October 15 by co-chairmen of the Museum’s Board of Trustees, Herbert S. Schlosser and Ivan Lustig.

During this year’s Cannes Film Festival, 53-year-old Moore won the award for Best Actress for her performance in David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars.

The co-chairmen said that 2014 was Moore’s year, and described her as a “fearless and versatile performer.”

“With her unforgettable performances in Still Alice and Maps to the Stars, and her upcoming role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, this is Julianne Moore’s year,” the men said about the four-time Academy Award nominee.

“She is a fearless and versatile performer who has created so many powerful performances in film and television,” they added.

Moore has also been nominated for several Oscars: best supporting actress for Boogie Nights and The Hours, and for best actress for The End of the Affair and Far from Heaven.

The Museum of Moving Image’s past nominees include: Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and Kevin Spacey.
