Why go to New York and star in a one woman show Off-Broadway, of course.

At least that’s what Joy Behar is doing. The name of her show is Me, My Mouth and I. It’s set to open November 6th at the Cherry Lane Theatre. You will have until December 21st to see it. What exactly will you be spending 51 dollars to see Behar do? In the words of the show’s website, “With more than 30 years as a beloved figure on stage and screen, Behar takes her audiences on a journey in Me, My Mouth and I— from her rollicking childhood in Brooklyn to center stage as one of America’s premiere talk show hosts and comediennes.”

If that’s not enough to entice you, Behar has made her own brief pitch: “This is a good time to take stock of my shenanigans.”

Who is going to see this show? Perhaps Behar will have some support from the LGTB community. After all, the Advocate recently called her a “vocal LGBT ally”. Upon hearing the news of the show, the website published the following quip: “So what? Joy Behar has a new one-woman show. Who cares? We do.”

“I see myself as an ally of the gay community for sure, but not an extraordinary ally,” Behar told the Advocate in 2010, “It’s not like I’m on some kind of a mission; it’s just the way my brain works.”

The comedian left The View last year. On the final segment of the show Barbra Walters said “I love you Joy, and we are really going to miss you. You can have the last word.”

Behar then gave the show’s closing line: “Take a little time to enjoy the view.”
