  • An emotional Joey Feek bade goodbye to her best friend, Julie, as she felt that she will not be able to see her ever again.

Julie, whom the couple fondly calls “St. Jules” spent a week with the Feeks and was supposed to fly back to Oregon, where she and her husband live. Rory took to his personal blog, This Life I Live, this Saturday to share the touching moment between the two women.

Joey wept as her friend prepared to leave. With her health deteriorating, the country singer was “inconsolable” as she felt that this could be their last time together.

When asked what was wrong, Joey said: “I don’t think I will ever see her again.”

Julie, whom Rory described in his blog as an “angel from heaven,” decided to extend her stay with the couple, cancelling her flight to Oregon to be with the family.

The two women have been good friends for eight years. As one of the country duo’s most avid fans, Julie did not only help run the duo’s fan club, but also poured tremendous support for the couple after Joey Feek was diagnosed with Stage IV cervical cancer, even going as far as to shave her head for the country singer.  In the last several months, she has been travelling back and forth between Indiana and Washington to help the family.

Last week, Rory opened up to Today about his wife’s health condition, and admitted that their upcoming album might be their last project together. Joey and Rory also received a Grammy nomination for best country duo/group performance, and even though he wanted to celebrate with his wife, he admitted, “God only knows where we will be in a month.”

The music that they share together has been a great source of strength for Joey and Rory, which is why their album is very special and meaningful to them.
