  • Jodie Sweetin landed the role of Stephanie Tanner on the popular sitcom Full House when she was just a wee lass, so it’s understandable that she’s insanely excited to revisit the character for the show’s revival on Netflix. Recently, she talked to Us Weekly about what Stephanie has been up to in the years since Full House went off the air, and what we can expect from her on Fuller House.

Sweetin says Steph has been a “free spirit” in her grown-up years and has traveled around a lot as a musician.

“Steph has been a world traveler. She is a little bit of a free spirit. She’s kind of an aspiring musician, she’s been traveling all over. I think she’s gonna be really fun to play…I think I’m gonna get to bring a lot of elements of myself to [Stephanie], which I did as a kid. But I don’t think I really realized I was doing it. When you’re a kid that’s just who you are. I think I’m going to get to bring some really fun life into Stephanie and who she is and what she’s up to,” Jodie said.

It’s not clear at the moment exactly who will be returning to the show from the original cast, although Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, John Stamos, and Andrea Barber have been confirmed. Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, Bob Saget, and the Olsen twins have not been confirmed, although Loughlin said she would love to come back.

“They made deals with half the cast, but not the other half. I think we would all like to come back, if the powers that be are fair to all of us,” Loughlin said.

Fans of the original show will be happy to hear that in real life, Sweetin has two daughters who know all about Full House and the role their mom played in it.

“My kids have seen Full House. My older daughter loves the show. She actually has it on her little tablet and she watches episodes so it’s really funny. I’ve asked her before, like, ‘Is it weird that the kids at school know who your mommy is?’ She’s like, ‘Well, a little bit but it’s kind of cool.'”
