Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, along with their infant son Israel, left Arkansas for an unnamed country on Sunday to fulfill their dream of working as missionaries. But where have the 19 Kids and Counting family members gone?
On the day the Dillard family departed for parts unknown, one report hinted they might be headed to Nepal. After all, that’s where Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar first met. Derick was serving a mission there with Jim Bob Duggar.
A bit of research, using Derick Dillard’s Instagram account and those of his friends, have them headed to El Salvador instead, however.
Joe Donaldson is a good friend of Derick’s. A post on his Instagram account–on which he even uses the hashtag #19kids–finds Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard headed straight to the Central American country.
In the photo, Donaldson–along with Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar–are having some Bible story fun with children.
“Me & Derick having a little fun acting out bible stories to keep the kiddos entertained late at night! #latenights #19kids,” Donaldson captioned the post.
It is a commenter on Donaldson’s post who directly asks about the Dillard family’s destination.
“Will the Dillard family be leaving tomorrow for their missionary work in El Salvador?”
“They are,” Donaldson answers. “We said our goodbyes & prayed over them last night! They are so excited!:)”
The comments on Joe Donaldson’s post have since been removed.
El Salvador would definitely make sense as a missions destination for Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard. They were there–along with the rest of the 19 Kids and Counting family–just a few months ago.
So why didn’t Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar simply share their destination with their fans?
In the blog that both Jill and Derick write, he shared that they weren’t divulging their upcoming location for security purposes.
“For security purposes, at this time, we’re not publicly discussing specific times and places of international service,” Derick wrote on July 5th–the day the family departed.
Do you think there really are security concerns for Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar–or might they fear that the paparazzi will accost them about the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal while they are serving as missionaries?
Either way, it certainly appears like the Dillard clan has headed to Central America. In their farewell video, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar indicated they would be visiting them in their new location.
Of course this could all be a big set up, conjured up to throw everyone off the path of where Derick and Jill are now residing.
Regardless, the family is no doubt bolstered by prayers from many of their fans for both their safety and their success as missionaries.
