  • Jessica Simpson has been in and out of the media’s attention long before she had been accused of wearing “mom jeans” for a performance in 2009. But what’s even more annoying is that the blonde is still getting yelled at for that outfit-5 years later!

Simpson sat down with Redbook magazine to do a little dishing on life in the public eye, life with her hot hubby and why folks shouldn’t concern themselves with a woman’s weight-especially when she’s pregnant.

“What’s so unbelievable is that I was probably at least 15 pounds smaller than I am right now,” Simpson said about her “mom jean” criticism. “What’s more unbelievable is that the press could create something so crazy out of a pair of jeans. What woman wants to be brought down for that?”

Simpson, now mother to two children had also been scrutinized by the press for gaining weight during her pregnancies.

“I never listen to it, no matter who the press talks about when they’re pregnant. It’s ridiculous and unfair. I think any woman who is pregnant and creating a life is pretty much entitled to eat whatever she wants as long as she’s healthy. I wasn’t going to let the media take away from what was one of the happiest times in my life,” Simpson told Redbook.

The 33-year-old has singed a deal with Weight Watchers as their newest (and blondest) spokesperson of the brand. She’s even taken to Twitter to show some of her weight-loss progress.

Simpson’s weight has been on the forefront of the media’s minds, but it seems to the the last on hers. Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson are finally ready to tie the knot and rumors are flying that it’ll be sometime this year.

“I’ve learned that sometimes love is not enough. You can have a soul mate and be madly in love with that person, but it’s not necessarily enough. I think you have to have personalities that mesh well. You have to be the yin to their yang. You also have to be open to figuring things out together and communicating— even when it’s the last thing you want to do,” said Simpson.

It seems the musician sure has learned a lot since her days being married to ex-husband Nick Lachey.
