Jeri Ryan is coming aboard to join the NCIS crew and fill in a long vacant plot line in the show.

She will play one of Gibbs' (played by Mark Harmon) four ex-wives, Rebecca, and will appear in an episode scheduled to air in January.

Rebecca is the only ex-wife of Gibbs' that hasn't been seen yet.

The others include Shannon, who was played by Darby Stanchfield. Shannon was murdered along with the couple's eight-year-old daughter by a Mexican drug dealer.

Another was Diane, played by Melinda McGraw. She drained Gibbs' bank account and left him. She also happens to be the ex of Agent Fornell, played by Joe Spano.

There was also Stephanie, played by Kathleen York. She also left Gibbs.

Jeri Ryan is no newbie to the small screen. She is most famous for her role as the de-assimilated (freed) Borg, Seven of Nine, on Star Trek: Voyager.

Jeri Ryan also had a memorable role in the popular show Boston Public as Veronica "Ronnie" Cooke.

Met this legend as we were boarding out flight back from DragonCon. A Star Trek legend!

Jeri Ryan also had great roles in Body of Proof and Leverage.

"After 12 seasons there was still one ex-wife to cast opposite Gibbs and we found her in the beautiful and talented Jeri Ryan," showrunner Gary Glasberg said. "We're all very excited to have Jeri join us for a storyline that's chock full of surprises."

Jeri Ryan has proven herself an all-around great talent. However, she has some pretty big boots to fill on NCIS. What do you think?

Do you think Jeri Ryan can fit the bill as one of Gibbs' ex-wives? Can you get the image of her as Seven of Nine out of your head long enough?

That might be kind of difficult!
