  • Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck wrapped up their divorce announcement vacation with their kids in the Bahamas this weekend, with Garner heading to Atlanta to start filming a faith-based movie. The actress will star in Miracles from Heaven, which is based on the book Three Miracles from Heaven by Christy Beam.

It was just last week that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced that they are, in fact, divorcing, following months of speculation that their marriage was over.

The two announced the split via a joint statement, just one day after their tenth wedding anniversary.

“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they told People magazine via their statement. “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck wanted their kids–Violet, Seraphina, and Sam–away from the public eye before announcing their divorce. They squirreled the whole family away to property they own in the Bahamas to stay out of the path of the media.

Garner and Affleck plan to co-parent their children, but no details as to how that will happen with their busy acting careers has yet been mentioned.

“They plan on co-parenting and doing absolutely everything in the best interest of the kids,” a source explains, adding that the three children are “their top priority.”

Perhaps filming this faith-based movie will in some way be healing for Jennifer Garner. The film follows the life of a young girl who suffers from a rare digestive disorder. After a serious accident, she finds herself mysteriously cured.

Sometimes spiritual healing can mend aching hearts and stressed out minds. Being a mom is enough of a stressor these days. Being a single mom is even more of one. Hopefully Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck both find what they need to proceed as nurturing parents as their family begins what undoubtedly will become a whirlwind of changes in the coming weeks and months.
