Jennie Garth of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame is engaged. The actress confirmed her engagement to David Abrams, her boyfriend of just a few months, earlier this week. Coincidentally (or not?), Garth’s engagement comes on the heels of her ex-husband, Twilight star Peter Facinelli’s announcement of his engagement to Jaimie Alexander.

Us Weekly confirmed back in January that Jennie Garth and Peter Abrams were dating. At that point the couple had enjoyed the holidays together, and Jennie Garth had introduced him to her family.

David Abrams tweeted very special birthday wishes that professed his love for Jennie Garth just days before their engagement announcement.

The couple–along with Jennie Garth’s three daughters–Luca, 17, Lola, 12, and Fiona, eight–spent her birthday in Mexico at the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa.

Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli were married for 11 years. He has been dating Jaimie Alexander since November of 2012.

Do you think Jennie Garth’s engagement announcement so soon after that of Peter Facinelli is merely coincidental, or did Garth want to prove to Facinelli that he’s not the only one to move on? She had a very difficult time following their split, but he moved on very quickly–causing some to speculate if he had moved on prior to their divorce.
