  • Jenna Bush Hager has a huge announcement: the 33-year old Today correspondent and former First Daughter confirmed to People Magazine this week that she’s expecting her second child.

Jenna, who has a 2-year old daughter with husband Henry, says she’s so excited to expand her family and even shared the sex of the baby: it’s a girl. Jenna says that after believing their first child was a boy for the entire pregnancy and then getting a shock when she was born, they decided to make sure this time.

“We didn’t find out with Mila and we were convinced she was a boy, to the point that we painted the nursery a pale blue. And it was a girl! We were thrilled, but shocked. So with the second, we decided to find out.”

The Hagers recorded a video announcement to share their news and included little Mila in the event.

“I appreciate life so much more as a mom. And I feel so lucky. I know how wonderful motherhood is and that makes it so much sweeter,” she said..

Bush-Hager made headlines recently when she spoke up for the Obama girls, who were on the receiving end of some nasty comments from a GOP staffer after their appearance at the annual Thanksgiving Day turkey pardon. Jenna says she can relate to growing up in the White House, and that it’s not an easy feat.

“I’m fiercely protective of them, obviously. I don’t think that it’s easy. It’s not a job that they wanted…I had a hard time (growing up in the White House), but it’s also a privilege,” she said.

Bush-Hager is reportedly due in August, but she’s already said that she and her husband may very well have a third child, as they both want a large family.
