  • Janet Jackson, who recently postponed her Unbreakable Tour, has undergone surgery and is reportedly being tested for throat cancer.

Jackson announced the cancellation of her tour on her Facebook page on Christmas Eve.

Jackson was scheduled to start the 2016 leg of her tour in Denver on January 9 and continue until the end of June.

According to the website, sources said doctors “found a growth on Janet’s vocal cords that could be serious” and needs to be taken care of right away.

Stuart Fischer, a doctor who is not treating Jackson, told the website, “God forbid that this should be cancer of the larynx. That would abruptly end her ability to ever perform again.”

While speculation continues, Jackson asked for prayers and reassured her fans.

“Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time,” Janet Jackson said in a statement. “I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon’ b alright.”
