  • British Sky Broadcasting has announced that it will dedicate an entire channel to the full catalogue of James Bond films. The movies will be broadcast 24 hours a day in HD on a channel called Sky Movies 007 HD. The channel will premiere on October 5, less than one month before the premiere of the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall. All 22 of the MGM Bond films, from Dr. No to Quantum of Solace will play on the channel, as will the 1967 spoof Casino Royale and the 1983 Sean Connery movie Never Say Never Again.

“The Bond movies are a very special franchise and we want to ensure that our customers to be able to experience it in a way they’ve never been able to before, and so we’re going to create a dedicated channel…showing the entire catalogue of films and loads of extra material,” said Ian lewis, director of Sky Movies. “We’re delighted that our customers will have the best Bond movie-watching experience ever with Sky Movies – uninterrupted, in HD, on demand, and on the go.”

All of the Bond films will also be made available through Sky’s Anytime+ on-demand service and its streaming service Sky Go. Subscribers to the Sky internet TV service Now TV will also be able to view the James Bond catalogue.

This is good news for James Bond fans in the U.K., though U.S. fans will have to continue waiting for the occasional cable TV marathon if they want to watch every James Bond film in a row.
