  • Idina Menzel recently allayed fears that there would be no more tales of the adventures of Elsa and Anna when she confirmed more projects for the Frozen universe.

When asked about a sequel to the smash Disney hit–as well as a 6-minute theatrical short and a stage production–she confirmed that “they’re all in the works” and said she”ll be involved with it in some way.

“Not the stage show – I don’t know what will happen with that – but the movie hopefully. We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride,” she said.

Menzel’s famous voice lends itself well to the character of Elsa, as well as to the many songs from the film, so fans are excited about the prospect of new music. The soundtrack exceeded anyone’s expectations as soon as it was released, and girls everywhere have done covers of the songs and taken fashion cues from Elsa for both cosplay and Halloween; the “Elsa” costume was a best seller across the country this year.

When it comes to advice on how to hit those high notes in “Let It Go”, however, Menzel says it’s difficult even for her sometimes.

“I can’t give any tips on how to sing “Let It Go” because I barely can sing it sometimes. It’s really hard. I can’t wake up in the morning and just sing it. I guess my advice is that everyone who likes to sing it should sing it loud and proud and karaoke it out, sing it in the shower, sing it in the car and don’t worry about hitting the high notes,” she said.

While there are no clues as to what the new material might entail, it’s no surprise that Disney wants to create more stories with the characters; Frozen is the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
