The top down action game demanded lightning quick reflexes from its players and it rewarded them with the best cathartic violence ever seen in a video game. Now the developers are working on a sequel and it looks like more of the same wonderful over-the-top violence we expect from the series.

Devolver Digital shared a new trailer for Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number today that shows off some of the new gameplay and guns found in the sequel. The first thing you’ll notice in the trailer is that players can now dual wield guns. This will allow players to walk down hallways and fire in two separate directions to take down goons coming at both sides. While the trailer does make it seem like co-op will added in the sequel, the developers say that’s not the case. On the official Twitter account, the devs state that they’re adding two new characters – the Swans. They’re a brother/sister pair that players control at the same time.

Alongside the gameplay, we’re also treated to what makes Hotline Miami so wonderful – the music. Without the thumping electro soundtrack, Hotline Miami’s presentation wouldn’t be half as effective. The music, visuals and violence coalesce into the kind of violence simulators that we were always warned about growing up. Check it out:

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will be out in Q3 2014 for PC, PS4 and PS Vita.
