There have been a lot of strong opinions on Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and her family since their show first aired on TLC, but they’re garnering some praise this week for their contributions to needy children in their hometown.

Since Thanksgiving, the family has been collecting toys and food to distribute to local families who wouldn’t otherwise have a Christmas, and it’s all being documented for a show called “Honey Boo Boo’s Holladay Special“. The Thompsons are giving out a P.O Box number for donations.

Each member of the family has posted photos on their Facebook page displaying the goodies they’ve received, and so far they’ve stockpiled tons of toys, food, and cash for those who really need it this year.
