  • Holly Holm isn’t much for celebrating victory – she’s all about business and fighting again.

The UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion is keen on stepping into the Octagon again, but with Rousey’s current injuries, a rematch within the next couple of months is not likely to happen.

In a recent interview of UFC president Dana White by the Los Angeles Times, it was revealed that a Holly Holm-Ronda Rousey rematch is definitely in the cards at UFC 200, which is scheduled in July of 2016.

Unfortunately, Holly Holm does not approve of waiting that long to defend her title. During a Q&A session with fans on Friday, Holm stated that she would rather fight “sooner than later” and that waiting until UFC 200 to fight again is an awfully long time. “I don’t like to sit on the sidelines, but we’ll see what happens,” Holly Holm said.

After decidedly defeating former champion and crowd favorite Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 last month in Melbourne, Holly Holm has turned into a celebrity overnight. Her confident and calculated execution of Rousey’s fall, as well as Rousey’s promise to redeem herself after her recovery has gotten UFC fans excited about their rematch.

Holly Holm’s camp reportedly proposed an interim title bout against two-time Rousey foe Miesha Tate, but was turned down by Dana White. Tate was actually slated to face Rousey in UFC 193 when the organization changed its mind and picked Holm instead.

After a series of meetings with UFC officials this week, Tate expressed her disappointment over being rejected for a title shot again, but said that she is still hopeful that she will get an opportunity to fight either Holly Holm or Ronda Rousey.

“I believe I will get my title shot eventually,” added Tate.

Meanwhile, Holly Holm’s manager Lenny Fresquez is still pushing for a match with Tate as he doesn’t believe that Rousey will make a complete recovery in time for a rematch with Holly Holm on July 9th.
